Invitation to Make a Bequest to Asheville Quilt Guild

The lives of members of the Asheville Quilt Guild are enriched by the friends they make who share their passion for quilting, as well as increasing their skills and development of new quilting techniques through the meeting presentations and workshops.  To create a legacy to honor their membership in the Guild, Ways and Means asks members to consider making a bequest in their will to ensure that members today and those of the future will also benefit from their membership.  Your lawyer or financial advisor can give you the language to use.

If you revise your will to make this generous gift, kindly notify the Treasurer of the Asheville Quilt Guild by an email to Treasurer@ashevillequiltguild.org. 

AQG In-Kind Donation Guidelines:

Many quilters are looking for a good home for their excess supplies when they need to downsize for various reasons.  At our annual Quilt Show, we have a booth called “What’s Old is New Again (WOINA)” where we resell at a reasonable price donated quilting and knitting books, patterns, notions and quilting fabric (cotton fabric only please).  Collections of donated items by the WOINA Chair are generally picked up in the parking lot at each Guild meeting. 

Our Community Quilts Committee, where we coordinate quilt making for various non-profit organizations, can always use good quality cotton fabric yardage. Their needs are outlined HERE.

If you would like to donate the entire contents of a quilter’s studio due to a major change in life circumstances, contact the Community Quilts Chairman (Community.Quilts@AshevilleQuiltGuild.org) to make arrangements.  She will coordinate with the WOINA Chair to determine the best use of your items by the Guild.

Note:  You may request a 501(c)3 receipt for tax purposes for any in-kind donations of goods to AQG at the time of donation.
